Identification

To identify a herb you can click on an herb once it is in your inventory. If your herblore level is high enough you will be able to identify it. If it is not high enough, you will not be able to identify it. JUST REMEMBER: Save all herbs whether you can identify them or not, because you may only need a couple of levels until you can identify it and when your level gets very high it will take a long time to raise it. The more herbs you get, the easier it will be when your level increases. You can also combine 1 does, 2 dose and 3 dose potions to get 4 dose potions. All herbs look the same:

Making Potions
To make a potion you will need to get the following items: (Attack potion ingredients shown)

1. A water-filled vial.
2. An Identified herb.
3. And the second Ingredient.

All you have to do then is:

1. Use the herb with the water-filled vial.
2: Use the second ingredient with the unfinished potion.

Of course, you must have the correct herblore level to make each potion.
Use the below chart to determine if your herblore level is high enough to make a certain potion.

Grounding

To ground items in Runescape, you will need to purchase a 'Pestle and Mortar' from the Herblore Shop in Taverly. Once you ground items like the 'Unicorn Horn', you can add them as your second ingredient for certain potions.

This is what a Pestle and Mortar looks like:

There are other items that need to be ground before use in potion making. Below is a table that lists those items.

Poisoning

If you are a member of Runescape, you have the ability to poison arrows and daggers. When you use the poisoned weapons in combat, it will poison the victim.

To poison a dagger or arrows, you must have the level-60-herblaw potion 'Weapon Poison'.

Not only can you be poisoned by daggers, spears or arrows, but poisonous monsters, such as the 'Poison Spider', can also poison you.

If you get poisoned, the only ways to cure yourself is by drinking an "Anti Poison"' or a "Super Anti Poison" potion.

If you die, you are free from poison when you're "reborn".

Poison will wear off after a certain amount of time.

Greenman's Ale

Greenman's Ale, available from Yanille's pub for 10gp each, temporarily boosts herblore by 1 level for about 30 seconds.

30 secondss not enough? Remember all those "useless" Stat Restore potion languishing in your bank... now's the time to use them! As soon as the effect of the ale wears off drink some Stat Restore, then you can drink ale again for the full effect.

Note- if you don't do this, drinking another ale before your stats restored means the ale's effects will barely last long enough for 1 potion or herb id!

Goutweed Collection Mini Guide

Following the new Eadgars Ruse Quest players can now collect the herb goutweed from the troll store and exchange it with the druid in Taverly for other herbs. The following guide will help to get them faster.

Strategy

When getting accross the store room you will have to negotiate a number of troll guards. If you get into their line of site (around 8 squares ahead of them) they will throw a club at you hitting random damage and tossing you out of the room.

Stop in alcoves to recharge energy and take stock of the situation

start running for the alcove when this troll heads down the first row of crates. This gives a free run 90% of the time. The final stage is just a matter of waiting for an opening and running to the goutweed crates.

Once you get a herb you will be thrown out of the room. Once you have full inventory of herbs, tele to faly then head to the Druid to get your herbs. He will give you herbs at 1:1 and there are always a few higher herbs (over irit)

NOTE- Teleport to trollheim to get back. if you can't tele you will need to bring climbing boots to get over agility obstacles
